Rectangular rapid flashing beacons—otherwise known as “RRFBs”—are a traffic safety tool you’ve no doubt seen on your commute or in your neighbourhood. Its attention-grabbing rectangular lights and solar power compatibility has turned this device into quite the popular, cost-effective solution to enhance crosswalks. But it’s not just show; the evidence backs it up. RRFBs can drastically increase how often drivers yield for pedestrians at a crosswalk. That’s less incidents, meaning safer drivers and safer roads for everyone.
